Pin Jets
This is a limited series of miniature fighter jets made from spent 303 bullet casings

About Pin Jets
This series of miniature Aircraft sculptures are made using the brass of a spent bullet shell, mounted on linen style canvas in a 10 x 10 cm glazed black frame. Each model is roughly 3cm long, and based on a real Jet-fighter design.
I worked with service veterans at a charity called Blind Veterans UK, as an Art & Craft Rehabilitation Specialist in Art & Craft. I was honoured to learn a lot about our beneficiaries and their lives. A fellow named Jack who spent time in the RAF in the 1950s explained to me that some of his colleagues used to make models of the aircraft of their time in this way, turning them into lapel pins or little brooches.
