Welp.
I've enjoyed a nice long burnout this year - appropriate for such hot weather in the UK. I have reverted to painting portraits of the houseplants. I'm enjoying it, really. Holding a panel in hand, sketching in oils in a wibbly-wobbly way. Leaving the onus of choice away from my subject to focus my energy on response, loose steering over brittle control... who knows what it's worth to anyone else, I've had some pleasant feedback, and others worried that something's wrong with me given how.. normal the subject has become. You be your own judge. I shall do what I do, and if you wish to share an opinion or demonstrate support, I am always very happy to engage!
