Aviation & Defense

Between 2010 and 2013 I studied at the University of Brighton, BA hons in Fine Art: Painting. My practice came from an intuitive place, and it took a long time to come to some consistency in subject matter to try and tie my efforts together. I came to study Art at War, and Aviation, creating impressions of places, spaces, objects that carried with them an aura of conflict, opposing purposes, whilst focussing on my handling of paint and surface.

My years post-study saw a sustained intrigue in Conflict and Aviation, historic innovations and fantasy - a mixture of ruin-aesthetics and "aesthetic of the sword". A great deal of this also comes from a need to understand my own background and make unique my own mark on the subject - my Grandfather having been in the RAF, my Father for a long time an Aviation Artist.
